Disney dominated the film industry while having more controls of movie business than any other studio. Fascinating yet thrilling films are all Disney’s specialties: attracting public impartially. However, the domination is not the main actor when it comes to generating value for Disney.
Most of world’s top grossing movies are occupied by Walt Disney Company. The billion-dollar movies set path to a higher level of income for Disney through something prevailing: merchandise. Movie is considered lubricant for merchandise sold. Fans are willing to sacrifice their funds buying merchandise to fulfill their needs of collecting movies’ complement.. Those fans are mainly teenager and children whose most interest is poured into animated and easy-to-understand movie. Noticing behavior of its audience, Disney starts focusing more on producing high-quality merchandise. Almost all of Marvel movie, Star Wars saga, Minions, are granting Disney more from merchandise than the big screen itself.
Genius marketing technique surely is behind of Disney could thrive quickly. Taking advantage of simple yet benevolent STP (Segmenting, Targeting, Positioning), the big industry set their target accordingly then apply strategic action in order to gain the maximum profit. No doubt, Disney has the ability to dominate the industry entirely.
