[ Is Christmas Best Season for Marketing? ]
For almost twelve months we’ve been through this year. Christmas season, the most awaited time of the year not only for consumers, but also for companies’s business. A lot of companies start to prepare marketing strategies for this period, especially to increasing their revenues. Holiday season brings a happy mood for consumers and make them in a ’buying moods’.
For example, online Australian book retailer Booktopi, who released a campaign selling elf-themed toys to attract seasonal commerce. It prompts customers to think of the Christmas holidays while looking at their brand. Holidays also usually come with the tradition of gifts and presents. Some companies develop marketing strategies by offering their customers a gift. A daily deals platform from Australia, Scoopon, express this through their 12 Days of Christmas campaign. This appeals to psychology and encourages customers to return the generosity often by purchasing their products.
The end of the year, especially Christmas is a competitive season. Customers are confused to faces choices during the holidays. They are also overwhelmed by fuzzy feelings of holiday’s excitement. But companies shouldn’t be frightened by emotional behaviors, they should seek to understand what markets really expect. As such, we could see that companies take a different approach to their marketing strategies for this season.
