[KFC drops finger lickin’ slogan temporarily]
KFC, a renowned fast-food brand, has recently dropped the “it’s finger lickin’ good” slogan that has been around in its every advertisement for 64 years. Instead, they launch their first global campaign facing the coronavirus pandemic.
The campaign, published on 24th August, is a 1-minute video displaying various of KFC images-includes some shots of signature fried chicken bucket and even an outdoor ad. The main spotlight of the campaign is the finger lickin’ part of the slogan pixelated out or blurred. The campaign ended with the line “The things we always say? (The slogan) Ignore it. For now.” This short- catching video endorses hygienicity as it is now top priorities and the slogan is rather inappropriate. Thus, KFC in the meantime is looking for interim placement.
The campaign will run across TV, social media, digital platform, and press. Implicitly, KFC did the particular campaign in order to maintain global stance so that its brand is not perceived as apathic and inflexible towards recent issue. Thus, the well-known fast-food restaurant keeps brand building as an important key.
