[ Microsoft Store Closings: Support Customers Online ]
As other companies try to think about how to slowly transform their businesses offline supported by a new normal protocol, one of the biggest software companies, Microsoft, has officially announced that they will be permanently shutting down all of their physical retail stores. At first, Microsoft began to expand its retail stores’ presence in an effort to create a shopping experience similar to other offline stores, where all the customers could go to take a look and try their product created by both Microsoft and its partners.
But, on the other side, they claimed it was a strategic change due to their focus on remotely providing customers with sales, training, and support online. It means that Microsoft deliberate all of its services to transform digitally. “Our sales have grown online as our product portfolio has evolved to largely digital offerings, and our talented team has proven success serving customers beyond any physical location,” Corporate VP David Porter says in the announcement.
This decision seems that Microsoft decided to continue improving and developing its market in an online platform rather than an offline-based market. Microsoft said its retail team workers will help on the website instead of in-store, and they still have an opportunity to be a part of the company.
