[ MTV’s #AloneTogether Encourages Social Distancing ]
People around the world, are battling with the COVID-19 pandemic. It effects businesses from every sector, some are thriving, and some might be declining. As more and more people stay inside their homes to slow the spread of COVID-19, MTV is unveiling a PSA campaign that aims to “communicate the importance of social distancing” at such a crucial time, and encourages people to participate in its #AloneTogether hashtag campaign.
Through this campaign, they are going to develop positive content such as live artists and celebrities takeover, daily engagement through series’ social accounts and profiles of young people who are making a difference through this pandemic. Celebrities including Trevor Noah and David Spade, both of whom have their own shows on Comedy Central, have already posted content in support of the campaign.
However, we as consumers are always looking to see how brands find a creative way to communicate their messages in the middle of this social distancing, and MTV’s aim is to evoke the sense that we’re all in it together, and that the campaign’s messaging is channeled without any direct physical contact.
