[ RIP UK’s Mothercare ]
After 59 years in the business, Mothercare in the UK had finally gone administration last year. It had been struggling to maintain the cash flow since the amount of customers went elsewhere such as online shopping to cut down the amount to spend. It created a ticking timebomb to places like Mothercare.
Mothercare’s sales weakened eventhough it held massive discount. Sales rose 0.6 percent in October, but on a 12-month basis, their sales were at their lowest point of only 0.1 percent.
The loss was almost reach 36.3 millions Poundsterling. More than 70 stores in the UK had closed down since November 2019. The place was selling anything you can find in the store including clothing rails and children and daughter mannequin.
Although Mothercare stores in the UK are threatened to go bankrupt, it will not effect other Mothercare groups all over the world.
